Born in Canada to a Portuguese father and a Dutch mother, he moved to Portugal at age six with a hyperactive amount of energy, which he kept until he starting surfing at age 10. From then on, his hyper-activeness eased a little. Two-thirds of his life have been spent in the water surfing, and the other third either eating or sleeping. Whether surfing around the world as a professional free-surfer, or eating while he sleeps to make the most of his time out of the water, he'll be doing it with a smile on his face.
