There are some things that a person never recovers from in life, and being raised near the ocean is one of them. Growing up in Huntington Beach, Dan adopted the ocean from and young age and never let go. From surfing to diving and conservation, the ocean is his driving force in life. With a brief leave from Southern California, Dan studied at the University of Arizona to earn his business marketing degree. Shortly after, he returned home to the coast where he rooted a career in the outdoor industry. This passion for adventure sports eventually lead to an introduction on the editorial scene where he launched his personal blog Gearminded.com, to share travel and adventure gear with the larger community. Today, he specializes in writing and content, with the goal of managing a highly creative media team that pushes the boundaries of journalism within the surf and greater outdoor industry.
