About: Katy Bryce

Surfer/Writer/Traveler

Katy, known to friends as the “100 Pounds of Fury” is a native Californian, but has lived in cold, epic, Oregon for the last 18 years. She grew up swimming and playing in the ocean, but didn’t start surfing until age 34 when she discovered her true love for wave riding. Katy has a B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara and had a former career in the non-profit world with a focus on sustainability. Her home is in Bend, Oregon, but she and her husband quit their jobs to travel and surf for a year and lived to blog about it at www.ayearintrim.wordpress.com. Coincidentally, she has a dog named Dozer and surfs a Rusty Dozer.
