Megan has been snowboarding for more than 20 years, long before it became an Olympic sport or a feature of the X Games. As a 7-time X-Games athlete, she sought-out softer landings, and a quieter work space, and made her way to the backcountry for a lengthy film and media career. Megan is a long-time Boarding For Breast Cancer (B4BC) Health + Wellness Ambassador with a passion for health and wellness, and has spearheaded the B4BC Chasing Sunshine Mountain and Ocean Retreats for breast cancer patients and survivors. She assembles and leads a unique team of facilitators with expertise in yoga, nutritional elements, life coaching, Chinese Medicine, and more. She also provides valuable life experiences. “Chasing Sunshine,” a documentary produced by B4BC and co-directed and co-written by Megan, allows incredible insider-access to her journey with breast cancer, and what it looks like to go through the rigors of both common medical and integrated health treatments, and come out on the other side. “I just wanted to share all of the things I was learning, in hopes to shed light on the integrated health treatments that are out there. And I think with the thought of eventually helping others, it gave me something to focus on within myself during that crazy process.” Married to fellow professional snowboarder, David Carrier Porcheron (DCP), she and her family lead an incredibly active lifestyle, and are now passing the stoke of the outdoors and love of an active, healthy, lifestyle to their 2 kids. “It’s a gift to be outside so much, and I love to share that healing and fun with my family and friends.”
