About: Mickey McCarthy

Craftsman/Photographer

Mickey McCarthy lives in Colington Harbour, Kill Devil Hills, NC. Married to Betsy, no kids, but several critters. He retired from 25 years in surfboard manufacturing, and has been a surf photographer for 40 years. For a living he shoots and builds his own waterhousings. His true passion though, is the art of surfing and the challenge of surf photography. He feels that he "needs to show the surfing world that the East Coast/Outer Banks does have some fine surf."
