Woodward grew up in Virginia Beach, VA, and lived and surfed in San Diego and San Clemente in the '90s. After moving around a bit, Woodward recently moved back to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He loves how raw it is, weather-wise. The surf is inconsistent, but when it's on, there's no beach break he'd rather paddle into. Woodward enjoys writing, hiking, and drinking wine. He's also into simple living. Woodward practices Zen meditation, and strives to incorporate what he's learned from it into his life.
