Since retiring 7 years ago, Steve Hauser has gone from bodysurfing on vacations to terrorizing locals on a 7-10 funboard at his adopted home break of Olas Altas, Mazatlán, México for 4 months each year. The rest of the time, he resides in Iowa City [a UNESCO City of Literature] where he struggles with his first novel.
