Jaws awoke again a few days ago. And when it rolled out of bed, it was hungry. Here are a few of the poor souls it had for breakfast.
Katy Perry gave a weather report yesterday in Australia. This later appeared on Katy Perry’s Instagram, which made its way around the internet faster than you could say “Snapper Rocks.”
You wouldn’t like him when he’s angry. And Kelly Slater’s pissed. He said so on the podium after winning the 2013 Pipe Masters when asked if he was coming back for 2014.
As the entire world knows, the situation on Reunion island is a bit delicate with all the sharks attacks that happened recently, but in this video we can see that the surf in the island is not dead at all.
If this is real, we want to know where to get one. If this is fake, our hopes and dreams have been crushed.
Sometimes things just don’t go your way. They certainly didn’t for the people in the yellow boat on March 2nd. During a huge, powerful swell that sent rain and giant surf into Jaws, these guys got caught in the wrong place at the wrong time.
We’re on the tail end of a (unless you live in California) pretty incredible year, swell-wise. Jaws went more XXL than ever. Mavericks exploded. Hercules smashed Europe. Pipeline saw perfection. A new world champ was crowned. Someone might’ve ridden the biggest wave ever ridden. Brigid smashed Europe again. California lay dormant, except for a few pulses here and there – amazing, perfect pulses. And in between, a whole whack of smaller swells banged their way around the world. Enjoy your spring… but enjoy this look back at winter first.
This storm brought big, mean and sometimes excellent waves. All shapes and sizes, really. And they pounded the California coast from rocky Northern California Spot X’s to world-famous Southern California spots.
