I was born and raised in Rome, Italy. After a girl broke my shoulder (funny story), I needed something to stay connected with the surf and the ocean even, so I bought a camera. I’ve always been passionate about ocean and water sports, and I quickly started to travel around the world looking for waves and new experiences.

I’ve always tried to take a photojournalistic approach to documenting the surfing culture at the Jersey Shore. I feel that each photo should tell a story, that some surfing shots aren’t meant to be shot at 10 frames a second.

Last August, after trying to round up a few friends for a trip, and failing due to conflicting work schedules, I departed on a solo trip to the Northern coast of Nicaragua. After hearing a lot of good things about the country, I thought it would be a good trip, and it didn’t disappoint.

I currently live in Southeastern France and travel in New Zealand, Morocco, Indonesia and throughout France taking pictures of what I feel surfing means to me. I surf and travel far from familiarity to catch this special feeling which helps me show what is impossible to describe with a few words. Photography is useful for that. For me, a special light or a special instant cannot truly be translated another way.
