Orcas, the bigger, badder cousin of the dolphin, are a sight to behold in the wild. Sheer immensity aside, when these things move, and move in groups, they can be a force to be reckoned with. They’ve been known to eat otherwise apex predators such as great white sharks.
Here, a group of them easily keep up with a group of shrieking lookers-on. Regardless of the intentions of the orcas, it’s a beautiful sight to behold as they get incredibly close to the boat’s stern.
While we can’t blame the boat’s passengers for standing on the edge of the stern to snap a few pictures, it wouldn’t take much of a jostle for cameras, and possibly people, to go tumbling in.
