The Inertia

After a brief respite, the West Coast is bracing itself for another dousing as the atmospheric faucet will be fully opened up again, especially in Northern California, Oregon, Washington and parts of Idaho.

According to The Weather Channel, “wet and windy weather will stretch from western Washington into extreme northwest California beginning Monday night.” Snow levels will be in the 6,000- to 8,000-foot level with snowmelt and rising river levels expected thanks to heavy rainfall. So there will be flooding.

Snow levels in the Sierras will be around 7,000 feet. The Cascades should experience lower snow levels later Wednesday night. Southern California is expected to receive moderate to heavy rain sometime Wednesday evening, possibly continuing through the week.

It has been an incredible winter across the “Left Coast” as snow depths in the Sierras, Cascades and parts of the Rockies are well above the 130 percent of normal mark. Places like Squaw Valley are experiencing some of the deepest days in years.
