“Know your audience,” they say. Welp… from the looks of this recent job post, Columbia Sportswear knooows their audience. Directors of Toughness? SIGN ME UP.

From the website: “The Directors will put their gear and personal ‘toughness’ to the test through exhilarating expeditions supported by Columbia’s range of innovative apparel, outerwear, footwear and equipment, demonstrating an ability to withstand unpredictable weather conditions and harsh terrains. The journey will be documented by the Director of Toughness and publically [sic] broadcasted everywhere from national television shows such as Jimmy Kimmel Live to social media to allow the greater Columbia community to travel along on this adventure and testing experience of a lifetime!”

Sounds like a an outdoors(wo)man’s dream job; and a social media obsessive’s wet dream!

To get any prospective candidates going, I’ve even gone as far as to offer a (likely) perfect answer to a telltale question on the application.

Question: If your life had a personal motto or catchphrase, what would it be?

Answer: Walk it off.
