Like all good students, I was sitting in class following the swell on the charts to see how it was going to hit home. When the day came, my brother and I loaded up the car with as many boards as possible and headed to the one spot I knew would be going off. Swells like this do not roll through Santa Barbara very often, so to share these incredible waves with my family, friends and some of the best surfers in the world was a trip. When you run up the cove and pass Dane Reynolds, Gabriel Medina, Jordy Smith, and Yadin Nicol you know it’s good. Here are a few images I was able to capture just before the sun went down.
