Filmmaker Brendan Monteiro dives into the life of surfer Casey Grant to find out what exactly dawn patrolling, and surfing more generally, means to the South African. The result: a beautiful, yet easily understandable account of a surfer’s unique passion for the ocean. To Casey, the ocean is his sanctuary. It’s the refreshing morning cup of coffee that he can’t go without. What religion is many, the ocean is to Casey, and without it… well, we don’t want to think what any avid surfer would do without the ocean. However, waking up early can be a drag, but maybe this video will inspire you to get your ass out of bed tomorrow and go surf.
