The Inertia

A group of Brazilian surfers from ATOWINJ (Tow-in Jaguaruna Surfing Association from South Brazil) traveled to Portugal to learn what it takes to surf Nazaré. Brazilian Surfer Thiago Jacaré  says “The point is sinister and it takes time to adapt. This was the first time we surfed this place. The tow rescue is very dangerous with the wave breaking right on the beach and many times close to the cliffs. Any mistake there can cost you your life.”

Despite not having a full season of big swells in Nazaré this winter, the surfers got two big sessions on this trip. The Tow-In surf team was  Thiago Jacare (Brazil), Fabiano Tissot (Brazil), Marcelo Luna (Brazil), Nuño Santos (Portugal), Sergio Cosme (Portugal) and David Langer (USA).

The support of the local community and the municipality with Pedro Pisco and Lino Bogalho was essencial for all Tow-in Logistic in Portugal.

Now the team is waiting for the next big swell to go back and enjoy what is certainly the biggest wave in the world.
