Courtney Conlogue has a pretty distinct style. She doesn’t throw skatey, weak turns just for the sake of slapping at the lip. No, she throws buckets upon buckets of water. She reminds me that we should get rid of the term #ManTurnMonday altogether, because the power of your turns shouldn’t have anything to do with gender when you surf like an all around badass. Needless to say, you can stand on the beach and spot Courtney from a mile away the second she sets up for one of her trademark big carves.
Unsurprisingly, Conlogue has that same flow on land. She trains her ass off in the gym and might be one of the most hard working athletes in all of surfing. But I guess you can’t really train for style, right? Which is why watching the current world number two cruise down the street on a skateboard is just as fun to watch. Same big turns, just a different board.
