The pop up is the make or break moment of every wave you catch. And one of the best parts of taking trips to unfamiliar waves halfway across the world is that variable of the take off, which changes from spot to spot, coast to coast. Each wave is different, so without the muscle memory and without good balance of a strong pop up, you are a dead fish.

Just like the first Fit for Trips in this four part series, you can dial in that pop up with a little bit of commitment and preparation. The recommendation is to start these workouts consistently for about four weeks leading up to your next big trip. Without putting in the work on land, you’re less likely to get the most out of that trip you’re prepping for.
