The Inertia

The Rip Curl Women’s Pro Bells Beach kicked off yesterday in two-to-four foot waves at Rincon. As stop number three on the Samsung Galaxy ASP Women’s World Championship Tour, the Bells contest saw heats running on the first day of the waiting period.

In the biggest upset of the day, ASP WCT Rookie Dimity Stoyle took out reigning ASP Women’s World Champion Carissa Moore in the first round. In the first few minutes, Stoyle pulled down a 7.83, then a 7.93 soon afterwards. Moore and wildcard Zoe Clarke were forced to spend the rest of the heat playing catchup, but weren’t able to make it.
