“He is literally King Triton.” So says Lena Dunham about Laird Hamilton, who came to her rescue, kind of. “As I struggled to complete BCRF’s Paddle for Pink (an amazing event to support breast cancer research), he appeared as if from the ocean’s depths and guided me to the finish line. I kept screaming ‘will I make it?!’ like we were in a disaster movie. He said ‘yes, Lena, we will.'”
Apparently, Lena, who was paddle boarding in the Hamptons for a charity event that supported breast cancer research, found herself stuck in a current. Since Laird just happened to be there with his hair and his muscles, flipping one and flexing the other, he immediately Lairded like only Laird can, paddled over, and escorted the Girls creator to the finish line.
“Ladies,” Dunham wrote on Instagram, “there are still a few heroes we can count on…” Of course there is, Lena. Of course there is.
