The Inertia

While most surf forecasts showed “poor and stormy” for almost everywhere in San Diego yesterday morning, Blacks started firing for a brief three hours with almost no one out. At around 9am, the wind shifted offshore and the prior washing machine glassed off. Slowly, a few local rippers with their trusty guns started to show up. There were only about ten guys out.

Inevitably, the low tide started to drain everything out, and just like that, the 10-15+ foot waves turned off. Checking other spots earlier, you would not have thought today would have been a good day to surf. But, for the few that were out, some bombs were ridden. Thank you El Niño.
