The last few days in Southern California have been good ones. A decent-sized swell with just enough south in it worked its way up the coastline, turning all the gems along the way into what we all wait for. Newport’s crown jewel, the Wedge, turned on as well–but a lot of the time, the wind ruffled things up a bit too much or the tide just wasn’t right.
“This being one of the few moments the wind backed down as low tide proved exceptional,” wrote Mike Lucas, the man who filmed the video above. “I usually shoot with 75-300 mm, this one’s on 500mm and I like it. ”
