The Inertia

If there’s a silver lining to the destruction wrought in the Caribbean and Florida of late as a result of hurricanes Irma, Jose, and Maria, it’s that surfers up and down the Eastern Seaboard have been scoring. Not to make light of the devastation (which, if you’d like to donate to show your support you can do so here). But in these troubled times, at least we can surf.

As if aware of that dichotomy, JP OBrien’s recent edit from an incredible day in Long Beach, New York (courtesy of Hurricane Jose) is paired with a haunting piano track. It’s a gorgeous piece that reminds us of the Atlantic’s love/hate relationship with hurricanes.
