Australia’s Matty Banting might be a rookie on tour, but his surfing says otherwise. Despite his less-than-stellar result at Margaret River, Banting has had a pretty decent start to 2015, including a 9th at the Oi Rio Pro where he upset 11-time world champ, Kelly Slater, in the man-on-man heat in Round 3 before losing to Ricardo Christie by less than three tenths of a point in Round 5.
