The Inertia

The Yo Shot Challenge is a public photography competition in which photographers and surfers from all corners of the world are encouraged to capture a moment of New York surf. Photographers can submit up to 20 photos taken during the contest entry period which goes from September 10 to December 6, 2013. The contest breakdown is as follows: three months, 110 registered photographers, 320 entries, two rounds of voting, 12 finalists and one winner.

First round of voting will be December 9 to 13. The winners will be decided by a 100% public vote. Voters are allowed to vote for as many photos as they would like during this round.
The 12 photos with the most votes from the first round will make it to the finals which run December 16 – 20. During this time, the public will only be able to pick one photo to win.

On December 23rd, $1500 will be awarded to the winning photographer with an additional $500 awarded to the surfer pictured in the winning photo!
