The Inertia

There’s a reason the Golden State is seen in many parts of the world as the promised land for so-called ‘action sports.’ Virtually anywhere in the state, you’re only a few hours from mountains or coast, and probably much closer to your nearest skate park. That’s why in California there’s an unofficial challenge of sorts called the California Trifecta – where one surfs, skates, and snowboards all in a single day.

Here, Jordan Small illustrates how, with some careful planning, the California Trifecta is very doable. Small gets a surf in at Trestles, followed by some skating at the Volcom Skatepark in Costa Mesa, and later a few laps at Bear Mountain.
