This recent swell included some of the most epic lighting and conditions Southern California has seen in a while. I was pretty lucky to be the only photographer at many of the spots I visited. I never had to deal with bad winds and currents. Everything sort of, well, fell into place. After SoCal’s prime winter that was abundant with north swells, the Wedge had so much sand that, when taking photos, I was always in waist-deep water. Here is a small selection of the magic that unfolded.
