Alia first fell in love with the ocean as a kid on Oahu's North Shore. After moving away in grade school, the sea continued to call her until she finally gave up all her possessions, moved to Puerto Escondido, Mexico and began learning how to surf. Alia is a cook, but not a kook. When she’s not working as a chef for guided surf trips in Latin America she’s traveling and surfing California in her van-house. She makes healthy and simple meals— based on what's available locally and seasonally — designed to give the energy and power necessary to spend all day in the waves. Alia believes that natural food is the easiest choice and designs meals that do no harm to the body, community, or environment.
