Arénui Frapwell is a 14 year old photographer who is currently in the 9th grade and calls La Jolla, California home. He may be young for his age to have such a passion for photography but his roots in the art runs deep. His great-grandfather was a contributing photographer to National Geographic in the early 1900's and his father, David Frapwell built a career in the same industry capturing images from exotic locations around the world. Aré is already a seasoned world-traveler having visited foreign lands such as the Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Hawaii, Tahiti as well as islands of the Indonesian archipelago: Simelou and Bali. With his regular surf trips to Baja and Mainland Mexico, Aré takes full advantage of the many opportunities to capture images very few kids his age have the chance to experience. While enjoying time in his hometown, Aré can often be found with his camera snapping photos of the gorgeous scenery that surrounds him as well as surf images of close friends.
