Surfer/Humanitarian
Community

Carla is a Southern California native and longtime frequenter of First Point, Malibu. Growing up in a family of surfers provided her many hours of sand castle building and shore break poundings. Her father, Wayne, tried for many years to coax her into the lineup, and although she would always enjoy the ocean, surfing was something that didn’t consume her life until she was 15. Having spent a number of years seeking success through competition and sponsorships, she now focuses her energy on empowering and encouraging others. With a second home in the Philippines, Carla has concentrated on humanitarian efforts, as well as organizing an all-girls surf competition geared for women of all abilities. Choosing to focus less on herself and more on others has afforded her many more desires of her heart.
