I'm 25 years old, and born and raised in Hawaii. My interest in ocean culture photography came in high school. I was inspired by Jon Mozo to incorporate a camera into my lifestyle. Shooting mainly landscapes, still life, and empty waves, I pursued a fine art influenced path for about five years. I cooked steaks at a local restaurant and sold canvas pieces and prints as part time income. It was in April 2013 when I was offered a staff job shooting surfing on a month long trip to Indonesia. I was stoked for the opportunity because I had never traveled with a crew and had only about a dozen or so surf photos to my name at that point. The trip was amazing and it sparked a new drive to add surf photography to my arsenal. I returned home, worked for a few months, then quit my job and hopped over to Oahu. I shot the winter season, building relationships on the front lines of the surfing world, all while eating on a ramen budget. I am now seeking out the next venture to quench the buzz. My goal is to continue blending fine art and surfing, creating images that would make you want to bring the scene into your home and hang it on your wall.
