I completed my undergraduate degree, BSc Marine Biology with Honours, and my PhD here at the University of Portsmouth. During my PhD, under the supervision of Professor Simon Cragg, I investigated plant-animal interactions, animal behaviour and physiology, and decay pathways of large woody detritus. My research is based in the mangrove forests of Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia, and my interests are focused upon the essential role of ecosystem engineers, the factors that influence biodiversity, the recycling of carbon in coastal tropical ecosystems and the enhancement of, and conservation of marine fisheries and MPAs.
