Danny Davis didn’t qualify for the Olympic team this weekend at Mammoth. But he did walk away from this ugly-looking wreck, which is a way better anyway because he can continue doing rad stuff. The event was the final selection for the 2018 Olympic team and Davis was having a helluva run before this happened, as you can see. He playfully called the wreck “Slammy Davis JR” on his Instagram account but you can bet friends and family were feeling more relief than humor (Davis’ good friend, Kevin Pearce, was seriously injured during halpipe training for the 2010 Winter Olympics).

Ben Ferguson, Jake Pates and Shaun White make up this year’s men’s halpipe team with Chase Josey expected to be the one discretionary pick by Team USA after winning the Mammoth Grand Prix. We’re all stoked to see Danny walk away from this one, nonetheless.
