The Inertia

Swatch nines is back. The third edition of the event will return to Texas’ Waco Surf October 8-10, according to a new announcement. What’s more, part of that run will be open to the public for the first time ever.

The first Swatch Nines Surf event went down in 2024, followed up by a second installment last year. The event’s signature is a playful, inventive approach to surf competition, and a propensity for pulling off viral stunts like a stalefish backflip from Hughie Vaughan

The 2026 edition of the competition has been rebranded Swatch Nines Surf & Skate, but will keep the same energy, with a unique course setup created with input from Swatch athletes Coco Ho, Noah Beschen, Gustavo Ribeiro and Kevin Peraza. Among the new features are the longest surf rail and the biggest skate park in the Nines history.

“I’m so excited for the upcoming Swatch Nines! A couple of years in, we’ve learned so much and are using the experience to dream up even more magical moments that can be captured, shared, and remembered forever,” said Coco Ho.

As mentioned, Swatch Nines is introducing a public day for the first time ever. On October 10, fans have a chance to see the action up close and personal.
