If we’re speaking honestly, Ben Ferguson is one of our faves. Despite his competitive success in recent years (not least of which was landing on the U.S. Olympic squad in 2018), the 25-year-old remains humble in conversation and is quick to pour out praise on the sport that’s given him so much. A true snowboarder’s snowboarder.
He also tends not to pull punches about where he’s at in his career and how he hopes to evolve his snowboarding. In an interview last year with Dylan Heyden (above), Ben explained that after spending so many years competing, chasing medals, and suffering from the occasional slam in the halfpipe, he’s begun to set his sights on new dreams – focusing more on filming in the backcountry.
If his part in Joy – a film he worked on with fellow Burton team rider Red Gerard that dropped late last year – is any indication, Ben’s managing that transition with serious aplomb.
