Canadian Snowboarder Kody Williams is in a medically induced coma
following a head injury he sustained while riding in Vancouver, British Columbia on Monday, according to social media and several other reports.

The 22-year-old’s brain injury is confirmed by a GoFundMe page seeking financial help for his medical bills and for family members to be able to support him. “If you care about this amazing young man’s life and well-being, he and his family could use any help possible,” the page says.

Friends including Craig McMorris have posted to Instagram wishing the London, Ontario native a swift recovery, with messages like this one:

Thoughts and prayers to this man right here. Get well. @who.is.kody

“Kody you are a hero to us over at ham city. Pull through this, we know u can do it,” wrote @dadparty420 in this post:

Known for ripping handrails and appearing in numerous terrain park edits, Williams counts Burton among his sponsors. In a 2015 interview, Yobeat described Williams as vastly talented: “Aggressively savage on a snowboard, he currently holds the official title of ‘pretzel king,’ along with being one of the coolest dudes in town.” Williams has been living in Big Bear, California.

Details of Williams’ accident are scant. We will update this post as we learn more.
