The likelihood of sharing a basketball court with LeBron James or Kobe Bryant is slim to none. In fact, you’d be lucky to get an autograph from them after waiting around in a parking lot for several hours. Your best bet to get up close and personal with your favorite athlete in, for example, basketball would be to sell your home and buy courtside seats. Even then, it’s not very intimate. Plus, you’d be broke and homeless.
Conversely, surfing doesn’t have such limitations. Fortunately, most are able to share the lineup with their favorite surfer or simply sit on the beach and watch in amazement. Such was the case this Labor Day weekend when the world’s best surfers descended upon Lowers and put on a show that surf fans and photographers will likely never forget.
