There are close calls and then there’s this. This goes above and beyond. A free diver off Bermuda nearly had his junk (his package, family jewels, frank and beans!) chomped off by a curious Tiger Shark.
The near miss comes to us from Burnt House Productions, while they were filming a TV series called “Ocean Vet,” posthumously chronicling the adventures of Dr. Neil Burnie. GrindTV reports that Andrew Kirkpatrick was the cinematographer during the incident while Willy Bounce was the (almost) victim.
“It was … the first time I had seen a tiger shark in the wild let alone swam with one,” Kirkpatrick told GrindTV. “My stickman, Willy Bounce, became a little overzealous wanting to get closer to the shark we were filming.”
After the encounter, Dr. Burnie – who sadly died in an unrelated free diving incident last fall – scolded his colleague for getting carried away. “You almost got eaten Willy because you lost your FUCKING job!” Burnie said.
But luckily for Willy, he was only verbally torn a new one by his boss and not physically by the shark.
