Shippies shouldn’t be surfed. Well, it should, but only by a select few that don’t subscribe to traditional thinking. One of those few is Tyler Hollmer-Cross, who lives and breathes Tasmania’s most mutanty wave.
On August 26th, Hollmer-Cross let go of the rope, navigated that funky step, and pulled into a barrel of ungodly proportions. Tim Bonython was on hand to film the madness, and now it’s an entry in the Billabong Ride of the Year category of the 2016 WSL Big Wave Awards.
