John John Florence is pretty much known as the best surfer in the world. Of course, that depends on who you talk to–he might be the best surfer in the world, but contests sure aren’t his thing.
That’s assuming, though, that the judges at WSL contests are actually able to proclaim that the winner of a world title is the “best surfer in the world.” In the end, it’s just another claim. Whether you’re in the Medina camp, the Florence camp, the Slater camp, in the “best surfer in the world is the one having the most fun” camp, or any other camp, the truth is… they’re all fucking INCREDIBLE at surfing.
