He’s always marched to the beat of his own drum, and most will agree that his unique eye and style for all things surf is unrivaled. Sometimes Mason surfs naked and over insanely shallow reefs. Well, not at the same time—that could get ugly. But no matter what kind of surfing he’s doing, people can’t get enough of it. Mason Ho’s surfing is damn brilliant.
Surf fans everywhere went bananas upon hearing of Mason’s wildcard spot into the Moche Rip Curl Pro this year, but it didn’t go so well for the Hawaiian. That is, when it came to competition. Perhaps it was the cold water. Although he didn’t get the result everyone was hoping for (he lost to Filipe Toledo in round three, who can blame him?), sans jersey Maso was scoring the myriad of flawless waves in the area.
