It’s easy to see why John John has mastered nearly every wave on the North Shore. For one, his backyard consists of some of the best waves on the planet, and surfing them every single day is likely to make anyone’s game sharp as a tack. Secondly, John John has everyone and their mothers telling him he’s the greatest surfer in the world. Whether that’s true or not is totally up to your preferences, but that’s gotta help his game in some way, shape, or form. Plus, he did just make the greatest surf film ever made. The guy’s been sitting on Cloud Nine since… well, forever.
With those boxes ticked, John John is fine-tuning his game, waiting for what is expected to be one massive winter on the North Shore. And although he won’t be winning any world titles this year, he has a chance as good as anyone else’s at taking home the 2015 Pipe Masters.
