UPDATE:

The snowboarder who died on Moran run at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Monday has been identified as Callagy Fahey Ross, 23, from Boston who had moved to Jackson this winter. She was riding alone at the time and hit a tree with trauma to the head and torso listed as the official cause of death, according to Teton County Deputy Coroner Chris Mooney. “It was a pure accident,” he said. 

Reports are coming out of Jackson Hole, Wyoming this morning that a female snowboarder died at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. According to the Jackson Hole News and Guide, the ski patrol responded to an accident report at approximately 3:24pm, Monday, December 7 after the snowboarder was found below the Togwotee Pass traverse on Moran Run, “on the north side of the trail in the trees.”

“The staff at JHMR join me in expressing our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the victim,” Jerry Blann, president of JHMR, said in a statement.

The ski patrol performed life saving techniques but were unable to revive the victim, who was transported to St. John’s Clinic in Teton Village where she was pronounced dead. Her name has not yet been released.
