We’re suckers for a good series. The Mayhem Projects come from the creative minds of Brandon Davis and Spencer Whiting. The duo packs GoPros around all winter (and summer down south), capturing unique, behind the scenes footage of “the life.” Hard not to want to live vicariously. So do it.
This episode documents their down under escapades as they cruised to Australia for spring and some Southern Hemi laps. In Sydney, with board bags on the roof, they weaved their way down to Bondi for skating and meat pies. The waves looked fun so they sesssioned mediocre surf before making the trek over to Jindabyne. “The whole time we were at Perisher the park was on point with about every single person in slopestyle lapping the T-bar over there,” Whiting said. “Between Mark McMorris filming his movie, the Norwegians destroying the park, and the local Aussie’s annihilating the rails; the level of riding was through the roof: anything from triple corks, mind-melting rail wizardry and even Markcus Kleivland hucking 1440’s off of the bottom jump.”
And that was before they hit the natural terrain. According to the boys, Perisher has some of the best bouldery features in the world with endless options. “It’s just a matter of a shovel and some man-power,” described Whiting. Things got sketchy real fast when they came across a massive boulder with a nice wind lip to send. Needles to say, Oz did em’ well. Stay tuned for Episode II.
