Yeah, rent in Gotham can get pretty high. But leave it to New Yorkers to get creative, and have a sense of humor. Someone recently listed an igloo on Airbnb, built during the recent snow storms that dumped some 27 inches in the city and left residents finding creative ways to recreate in the boroughs.
Funny thing is, at $200 a night, renting an igloo ain’t that cheap. But the description—under “Boutique Winter Igloo for 2”—is worth the listing alone: “Dripping with ingenuity and alt-lifestyle aura lays the Snowpocalypse of 2016’s most desirable getaway. Hand-crafted, and built using only natural elements – we’re offering the experience of a life time in this chic dome-style bungalow for you and bae.”
Unfortunatley for igloo lovers everywhere, or those hoping for a whole new experience during their Big Apple get away, the listing was pulled by the rental site. The next listing we hope to see that would make sense during this cycle of heavy snow on the Eastern Seaboard? “Hand-crafted Snowcave for the Minimalist at Heart.”
