By now, images and video clips from the East Coast’s recent run of swell have inundated your Facebook and Instagram feeds. Any other time I would’ve been upset I missed such a great run of swell at home, but the truth is that El Niño has been delivering to almost every corner of the world. This year I left my cozy corner of the Outer Banks of North Carolina to team up with Puerto Rico native, barrel hound, and part-time Outer Banks resident, Juan Carlos Gerena (a.k.a Burger), at his home in Isabella, Puerto Rico.
This is Burger’s World, a new web series from the beautiful North Coast of Puerto Rico, which is stacked with talent, including guys like Hector Santamaria, Bryan Laide, Anthony Lopez, and Carlos Cabrero, Seth Barrick, and Raul Hernandez. The boys have been tearing up every pulse of swell these winter storms have sent our way. From massive Wilderness to pristine Middles and a few spots you may have never seen, this is a true locals look into the Puerto Rican surfing world.
