Matt Becker is a Santa Barbara surfer. You may not have heard of him, but the guy is mental. When shit gets hairy, Becker puts his head down and goes to work, consequences be damned. Here’s the thing about consequences, though: the more commitment you put in, the higher they are.
After getting as close as one can get to sticking one of the most incredible drops ever at Maverick’s, Becker tips over, lands on his back, skips down the face for a while, and then looks up to see one of the worst things ever: a giant, cold, dark, Mav’s lip just about to crush him. Josh Pomer happened to be on hand to capture the whole violent affair on video, and now it’s an entry into the TAG Heuer Wipeout of the Year category of the 2016 WSL Big Wave Awards.
