Of course, we’d all like to have at least a decent level of overall fitness, if for no other reason than to be able to enjoy life. We’d like to have a healthy heart to keep us going, strong muscles to keep us in the water, and flexibility to prevent injuries. There are days we are motivated to work on our overall fitness; although to be honest, for many of us, these days are only when it’s flat.
However, there are plenty of other days where you don’t want to go to the gym, you don’t want to go for a run, you don’t want to do yoga; you just want to surf. That’s what it’s all about, right? Well, even on these days, it can be good to tune up your surf muscles. You don’t have to do a full gym session; just try a couple of the exercises demonstrated below. They’re quick, simple, and targeted specifically to surfing. You’ll feel the difference the next time you paddle out.
