The Inertia

If you know anything about whitewater, then you understand what a beautiful sport it can be, allowing one to surf the Earth while dissecting some of the wildest places on the planet. And the Lämmler Brothers–Sven and Lars (Swiss, if you must know)–have definitely been in, and absolutely stomped, some of the best whitewater in the world.

Here, Lars Lämmler gives us three easy steps to getting wrecked on South Africa’s Zambezi River. 1) Get good enough to run the Minus Rapids, the Class V + section above the main (tourist) rapids, which features gigantic whitewater complete with rowdy river waves and enormous cataracts. 2) Break your paddle in the Minus Rapids (you see where we’re going with this). And 3) swim Class V like it ain’t no thing—like Lars here.

Whitewater is beautiful.
