Torrey Meister surfs like a man on fire. Caution-to-wind, hair-straight-back, consequences-be-damned type surfing. He surfs like that for a reason: he grew up on the Big Island of Hawaii. Surfing there is different from elsewhere in Hawaii. It’s harder; waves are often slabby and shallow, wind-blown and battered.
In Here & Home, O’Neill’s new series that looks at the individual lives of their team, Meister explains what growing up on the the Big Island did to his surfing. And we’re glad it did.
