A good road trip is on every surfer’s bucket list. It’s necessary: packing up a van/car/truck/motorcycle/bicycle/moped with boards, friends, and beer isn’t just a surfer’s WANT, it’s a surfer’s NEED. Be it Mexico, Portugal, or the good ol’ US of A, piling in a thing with wheels, pointing it somewhere different, and finding waves the entire way is one of the most freeing things anyone will ever do. Such is the case with Aritz Aranburu, artist Jay Nelson, and photographer Quinn Matthews (click here to see a throwback gallery of Quinn’s back in 2012) when they head down the California coastline from San Fran to Big Sur to Malibu.
